Shinsedai Cinema Festival 2010 is taking place under the same roof at JCCC during the exhibition period of Bungalow Colony this July 22 -25.

Come watch some amazing films lined up for Shinsedai this year inbetween your visit to Bungalow Colony.


Come Join us for the official opening reception of Bungalow Colony on Saturday, July 17, 2-5pm, with artists and curators in attendance at Gendai Gallery.

2:30- 3:30 pm - A guided tour with artists talks will be conducted by all six artists: Steve Newberry, Seema Narula, Aleksandra Rdest, Reiko Shimizu, Myung-Sun Kim and Tom Ngo.

Come join us this coming Sunday for a free special guided tour by Gendai, exploring the notions of “home” at Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition, through unique East Asian perspectives.

This guided tour is available in the English, Japanese, Cantonese and Mandarin.

Time: 1:30-2:30 pm, Sunday, July 11, 2010
Location: Nathan Philips Square, with exact meet-up location to be confirmed upon RSVP

Come join us with workshops by the artists of Bungalow Colony during Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre's annual Natsu Maturi & Obon Summer Festival.

3 - 6 pm: Artist workshops by Myung-Sun Kim, Seema Narula, Tom Ngo, and Reiko Shimizu during JCCC Natsu Matsuri Summer Festival at Gendai Gallery

4 - 5 pm: Community Story-telling by art educator/artist Katherine Yamashita, with her mother Jean Yaeko Fujimoto, and her daughter Danielle Yamashita at Gendai Gallery
