Gendai Gallery and Gallery TPW are pleased to present an image and text workshop led by artist Jacqueline Hoang Nguyen as part of her ongoing project, The Making of An Archive. In 2013, Gendai invited Nguyen to produce a project responding to the problematic notion of the model minority. Nguyen’s response follows from research she did for her 2012 essay film based on Canada’s centennial celebration that spearheaded their new policy of multiculturalism, "1967: A People Kind of Place." The proposed project has since developed into a participatory online photo-digitization project.
